Title: Quiet Mountain Retreat
Review: We (2 couples in our 60's) enjoyed 3 nights at Daveran's Cove Oct 1-4. While we were a little 'thrown' by the steepness of our first drive to the cabin, the ride became easier as we drove up and down the mountain throughout our stay. It is centrally located and Google maps worked well for us the entire time we were there. Cabin was clean and as presented on the website, with a large parking area, which was very nice. Having keyless entry was great, and easy to use. The cabin could have used more wine glasses (there were only 3), and more silverware (had to run the dishwasher after each meal or snack), but that was really the only complaint. It was very quiet there, despite having other occupied cabins nearby. Appliances were all relatively new, and in good working order. Hot tub was clean and much appreciated after hiking and walking all weekend. Upon leaving, we noticed evidence that a bear had attempted to get into our car (even though no food was in it)--there was dust around and on the door handle, and several minor scratches that had not been there previously. We saw one overturned trash can in a nearby driveway one evening as we returned to the cabin, so we knew bears were present. Sadly, no wildlife spotted on this trip however, unless you count 4 buzzards and a squirrel! Great trip to reconnect with old friends. Would stay here again. Mountain Rentals was easy to work with, and staff always followed up as promised to any inquiries.
